On a radical re-design of our economy based on human dignity, solidarity, sustainability, justice and democracy.

Christian Felber wants to radically change our economy. In his opinion, the neoliberal free market economy does everything but serve society's interest. It neglects the ecological boundaries of our planet, creates an ever-widening gap between rich and poor, and instead of promoting welfare and the satisfaction of basic needs society-wide, it furthers the accumulation of capital as the holy grail. Felber argues for an economy that sets the common good as the ultimate goal. In his keynote, he will unfold his ideas that go beyond just a broad idea of a new economy and include practical and creative projects to compel and enforce the transition. Through an in-depth dialogue we will also explore the value of the common good economy for our quest for a new democracy.

Christian Felber is a lecturer at the Vienna University of Economics and Business and co-founder of Attac Austria. His book Change everything: Creating an economy for the common good, translated in Dutch as Ware Winst,  is an international bestseller and made him a frequently asked and renowned speaker around the globe. Over 400 organisations in 35 countries (also in the Netherlands) work with Felber’s model to evaluate their ‘common-good-balance’. Felber is the initiator of the “Bank for the Common Good” project, establishing the first ethical financial institute.
